Tostones, "Toast-Tone-Ayes", originate from the sub-tropics. Tostones come from special species of plantains cultivated for their texture and flavor, and when cooked are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This versatile fruit makes a perfect accoumpaniment to many center-of-the-plate proteins. Tostones are a fantastic and economical way to add flare to any dish.
